Can I
see you perform?
In some cases yes, if I have an event coming up that’s open
to the public. At someone’s wedding, no, and I promise not
to invite anyone to your wedding as well.
Do you
provide references?
Yes. Please ask me and I would be delighted to provide them for
you.
Do you
have backup equipment?
Absolutely. You can rest assured that if I have a problem, you’ll never
know.

Will
we have the opportunity to go over the details prior to
the wedding?
Yes. I will call you early in the week of your wedding to go
over all the details. Your questions and concerns will not
be left for your wedding day. Over the phone, I’ll walk
you through the order of formalities and give you suggestions
to help you enjoy your day more thoroughly.
Will
you play the music too loud?
Through our sound processors, you can rest assured that the sound
will be adjusted to the acoustics of the room. During cocktail
hour and dinner, I play music softly enough so that guests
can carry on conversations very comfortably. The music at
this time is just background and used to create ambiance
and help set the mood. When it’s time to dance, the music
is slightly louder, but not painfully so. Usually I’m right
on the money with the volume, but if you should ever find
it to be too loud or soft, just tell me and I’ll make an
adjustment immediately.
What is
your attire?
For a formal occasion such as a wedding, always a tuxedo.
Entire ensemble professionally cleaned and pressed.

Do you
have an assistant or do you work alone?
At most events, I work alone. This depends on the type of event,
where it’s going to be, and how many guests you are expecting.
I always tell my clients prior to the event if I will be
assisted.
Will
you send someone else?
No other DJ will ever represent me. The only way for strict
quality control is for me to host the event myself. Should
I not be available when we first talk, and you would like
a referral, I’d be happy to pass along a name, but their
name will never appear on my contract.
Do
you use CDs or MP3s?
I use MP3s and on the occasion, CDs, so don’t worry, I’ll
be able to play your CD if it’s something I don’t own.

Does
your music come from the internet?
No. All of my music has been paid for and I get updated
by a weekly service. As stated, I use MP3s, but one of the
biggest misconceptions with this format, is that MP3s only
come from the internet. When I made this transition in May
of 2001, I converted the music from my own CD collection
of 30,000 songs.
Do you
play requests?
Yes. I take up to a dozen requests from you, the client, and
play as many of them as I can. Please keep in mind, however,
that a party usually takes on a life of it’s own. Some or
all of the music you request might not end up working with
your crowd.
Will
you be willing to play overtime?
This will depend on the time of your event, and the package you
booked the banquet house for. Ill let you know during
our first conversation whether or not I will be able to
continue the music past our contracted time. I recommend
that you ask your banquet coordinator what your overtime
options are with them.

Are
you going to talk all night?
Some variation of this question gets asked all the time.
Although I must maintain a certain level of control as the
Master of Ceremonies, I do not feel that it is necessary,
nor is it my style to talk in between every song.
